In the U.S., cancer is considered the number one cause of deaths with new cases reported each year. Men take the lead in prostate cancer. Approximately 180,000 American men might develop the illness in the coming years.
Beating cancer takes more than just treatment but also healthy living in the following manner: • Eat foods reach in selenium – This food includes beef, liver, kidney, sesame seeds, mushroom, garlic, seafood, Brazil nuts, and bananas. • Limit consumption of processed food – Processed meat, sausages, bacon and meat pie are categorized as carcinogenic to humans. Consuming too much of these foods increases the chances of getting cancer. When processing or cooking meat, certain chemicals build in them which interferes with the natural DNA of a person thus increasing chances of prostate cancer. • Reduce eatingred meat- Consume red meat in moderation as it is known to increase risks of different types of cancer including prostate cancer. • Losing weight- Obesity in men increases dangers of prostate cancer. Excess weight also increases the progression of prostate cancer. To reduce these risks, do daily exercise. Even though there is little evidence that food prevents any form of cancer, eating a balanced diet is associated with reduced cancer risks. Plant-based food carries an excellent source of antioxidants or phytonutrients that work as a defense mechanism against chemicals, which can destroy healthy body cells increasing cancer risks.
